Emerald Forest from Night Owl Quilting

Wendy brought this rich brown batik quilt.  The pattern is called Emerald Forest from the book "Inspired by Bali" by Suzanne Mcneill.

She chose the Fascination pantograph for a nice finishing touch.  I love how well it shows up onthe the cozy fireside backing.

A Trio of Jelly Roll Quilts from Night Owl Quilting

Roberta made this trio of Jelly Roll Race quilts for her grandchildren.  I think she did a great job of making them equal but unique.

The first batik version with a purple Fireside backing was given the Fascination pantograph.

The second quilt featuring the Ruby Star Society Hole Punch Dots collection received the Flirtatious pantograph.  The fabric makes me think of confetti and the pantograph streamers so let the party begin!

And last but not least this batik version received the Gingersnap pantograph which seems to be the most popular in my collection.

Two for Jukipa from Night Owl Quilting

Jukipa made this beautiful log cabin quilt for her daughter.  Her colour palette is warm and gives a cozy feeling.

She selected the Fascination pantograph which is such a great pattern that looks good on so many quilts.

She also brought a sweet rail fence baby quilt.  The Fliratious pantograph was just the right finish with a pretty pink thread.

Two Fabric Bargello and more from Night Owl Quilting

Carol brought three lovely quilts for me to help her finish.  First up is this Two Fabric Bargello.  Carol chose the Ebb and Flow pantograph beautiful turquoise shiny Magnifico thread.

For this Drunkard's path quilt Carol opted for the Fascination pantograph, and I always love the movement it adds.

And last up is the beautiful Queen sized quilt that gives me beachy Caribbean vibes.  The Fanciful Fliers pantograph was the choice and a turquoise thread to add a pop to the front that coordinated with the back.

Free Fall from Night Owl Quilting

This beautiful quilt was made by Megan is currently on display at Keystone Modern Creative as a shop sample.  The pattern is called Free Fall by Villa Rosa Designs, and kits are available in this gorgeous Aged Muslin from Marcus Fabrics.

Megan let me choose a quilting design on this one and I thought the Fascination pantograph would be a lovely finish.  I used a cream thread on the front and a plum thread on the back to match the gorgeous Fireside backing.

Radio Way from Night Owl Quilting

Cindy made this King Size version of the Radio Way quilt pattern.  I don't know what the name of this fabric collection was but Cindy said it was exactly her colours.

Cindy selected this Fascination pantograph and I love the movement it offers against all the straight line in the piecing.

Blooming Nine Patch from Night Owl Quilting

Lisa made the stunning Blooming Nine Patch quilt made entirely of beautiful batik fabrics.  It looks beautiful, hanging flat, but I think the pattern really shines when placed on my queen sized bed.

Lisa chose the Fascination pantograph and I used a purple Magnifico thread on top paired with a lilac Bottom Line thread for the back.  I think the prints of textures of the batik fabrics really add to the blending magic of the finished project.  Great job Lisa!

I'm still here.... from Night Owl Quilting

It has been over two months since there has been any activity here.  I have busy quilting for my clients and enjoying my summer filled with fishing and camping and my oldest daughter's wedding!  Sitting down to edit photos and post them never seemed to make it to the top of the priority list.  Now that September has arrived I decided that I better make an attempt to get caught up in sharing some of the wonderful quilts that have visited my studio in the last few months!  Starting the catch up phase with four beauties today...

First up ...

Bonnie's Bento Box from Night Owl Quilting

Bonnie sent this lovely Bento Box quilt that she made by dipping into her batik stash.  I have always loved this pattern for its simple but striking design.

We decided on the Fascination pantograph which added some gentle movement over the geometric piecing lines.

The Northcott crackle wide back in a beautiful medium blue was the perfect compliment to this quilt.  I don't think this bolt is going to last very long around here!

One More Memory Quilt from Night Owl Quilting

This is the 4th memory quilt Karen has made from her dad's shirts. Earlier this year I had the pleasure of quilting the three others that had white backgrounds, you can see them here.

I was surprised Karen still had enough material to make this quilt.  She incorporated a tie into some of the blocks this time as well as you can see  by the shiny block in the photo.

Karen chose the Fascination pantograph and a charcoal grey thread that just showed up a a little bit on the background fabric and blended in nicely with everything else.

North Star from Night Owl Quilting

This striking quilt is a pattern called North Star from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.  I actually had the pleasure of piecing this quilt top for Leslie of Keystone Modern Creative with my dear friend and business partner Kathy at a retreat we attended in the shop.

The fabric is line is called "Almost Blue" by Libs Elliott who is a Canadian Designer for Andover Fabrics.

Leslie left the quilting design choice up to me.  I selected the Fascination pantograph and used a silvery Magnifico thread for some shine to match the metallics in all the prints.

As we all ...
